Study excursion on INZ
On Thursday, 9 October, the Institute of Contemporary History went on a study excursion along the Slovenian-Austrian border.
The first stop was at the Museum of Madness at Cmurek Castle, where we learned about the history of the former psychiatric institution and the ongoing efforts to preserve the dignity of people with lived experience of mental illness.
After a delicious lunch at the Šenveter-Gundel Tourist Farm, we continued across the border to Bad Radkersburg, where a local guide took us through the town’s rich history. The day concluded with a walk across the Bridge of Friendship to Gornja Radgona, where we explored the Slovenian side of the twin towns.
Warm thanks to Ms. Barbara, Ms. Katja, and the Museum of Madness team for their hospitality and excellent guidance. It was an inspiring and insightful day!
li čez mejo v avstrijsko Radgono (Bad Radkersburg), kjer nas je skozi zgodovino mesta popeljala lokalna vodička. Izlet smo zaključili s sprehodom čez most prijateljstva v Gornjo Radgono, kjer smo si ogledali še slovenski del mesta.
Iskrena hvala ga. Barbari, ga. Katji in ekipi Muzeja norosti za prijazno gostoljubje in odlično vodstvo. Bilo je poučno, prijetno in navdihujoče!
