International symposium “The Unknown Known Prežih (1893–1950)
On Thursday, 27 November 2025, the international symposium “The Unknown Known Prežih (1893–1950)” took place in Ravne na Koroškem, focusing on the life and work of Prežihov Voranc and his role in Slovenian cultural and political history.
Prežihov Voranc remains one of the key figures of the Slovenian literary canon and 20th-century social thought.
Our colleagues Dr Aleš Gabrič and Dr Bojan Godeša also took part, presenting the papers Prežihov Voranc and Vinko Möderndorfer and The Role of Prežihov Voranc in the Efforts to Implement the United Slovenia Programme.
The event, organised by the Prežih Foundation and the Municipality of Ravne na Koroškem, brought together researchers, experts on Prežih’s work, and lovers of Slovenian literature. It was conducted in Slovenian language.
