The Institute of Contemporary History hosted the second lecture in the AI4DH training series, organised by the European Centre of Excellence for Artificial Intelligence in Digital Humanities and open to the wider public.
This time, the lecture titled “Trends and Challenges in Artificial Intelligence” was delivered by Dr Marko Robnik Šikonja from the Faculty of Computer and Information Science, University of Ljubljana. Participants were introduced to the development of modern AI based on deep neural networks and large language models, and discussed how these technologies are reshaping learning, research, and knowledge production.
The lecture, held on Friday, 5 December 2025, offered a clear overview of key AI trends and opened important questions about the future of artificial intelligence in the humanities and social sciences.
