Isidora Grubački’s Guest Lecture at Inalco in Paris
On March 31, 2026 Dr Isidora Grubački gave a guest lecture at INALCO in Paris as part of the Séminaire de master et de recherche Histoire, Politique et Culture en Europe médiane (HPCEM) 2025–2026: Mobiliser la collectivité, convened and led by our former Visiting Fellow Andreas Guidi and his colleague Katerina Kesa.
Focusing on the political thought and activism of Angela Vode, Dr. Grubački talked about the Yugoslav links with the Paris-based 1930s organization Women’s World Committee against War and Fascism. The talk was followed by a rich discussion with students about the history of political thought and the importance of transnational approaches in historical research.
The lecture also marked the first event of the ARIS project Toward an Integrative Approach to Women’s Political Thought in East Central Europe: Cases from Slovenia and Beyond in the Long Twentieth Century.
