PRESENTATION OF THE DATABASE OF FATALITIES AMONG THE POPULATION IN THE TERRITORY OF THE REPUBLIC OF SLOVENIA DURING WORLD WAR II AND IMMEDIATELY AFTER IN ŠKOFJA LOKA

On 17 June 2026, our colleagues Dr Mojca Šorn, Dr Marta Rendla, Dr Andrej Pančur and Tamara Logar attended the presentation of the 72nd issue of Loški razgledi, organised by the Museum Society of Škofja Loka at the Sokol Home in Škofja Loka.

On this occasion, they presented the database Fatalities among the Population on the Territory of the Republic of Slovenia during the Second World War and Immediately Afterwards – from the beginnings of systematic recording to its contemporary upgrades and possibilities for use.

Special attention was devoted to the victims of the Second World War in Škofja Loka and its immediate surroundings, highlighting the importance of the database for local history, research on wartime violence and the preservation of the memory of the victims.

SARA ŠIFRAR KRAJNIK IN VIENNA

Our colleague Sara Šifrar Krajnik presented her doctoral research in June at the ZUG-minisymposium at BOKU University. During her stay in Vienna, she also conducted additional archival research at the Österreichisches Staatsarchiv, collecting and analyzing sources that will contribute to the further development of her doctoral project.
