META REMEC ON RADIO ARS’ GLASOVI SVETOV
How has life in the Karst village of Tomaj changed over five centuries? How have major social, economic, and political transformations affected its inhabitants?
Our colleague Dr Meta Remec, together with historian Dr Aleksander Panjek from the University of Primorska, appeared on Glasovi svetov (Voices of Worlds) on Radio Ars. In a conversation with Alja Zore, they presented the scholarly monograph “Tomajci: Slovenian History in Miniature (16th–20th Century)”, which explores five centuries of life and change through the history of the Karst village of Tomaj.
Meta Remec contributed a chapter titled “Education and Re-education: Schooling and Educational Institutions in Tomaj amid Social and Political Changes in the 19th and 20th Centuries”, in which she examines the development of education in relation to broader social and political transformations. Our colleagues Dr Lev Centrih and Dr Jurij Hadalin also contributed to the monograph.
