Study visit to Vienna within the framework of the 5XPRO project
As part of the 5xPRO project (https://inz.si/en/projekt/5xpro/), three colleagues from our administration team — Patricija Manfreda, Anita Rus and Klara Rus – took part in a study visit to Vienna (4-5 December 2025).
RTDS Group (https://rtds-group.com/) provided an in-depth presentation of their comprehensive approach to Horizon Europe projects, covering innovation strategy development, preparation of successful proposals, partnership building, financial planning and project implementation support.
In the afternoon, we visited the AIT Austrian Institute of Technology (https://www.ait.ac.at/), where we learned about their research career development model, approaches to effective researcher support, internal workflow structures, and the tools that connect project and expert teams into a coherent system.
Both organisations demonstrated the importance of well-designed research support:
- at RTDS, through professional guidance across all stages of the project cycle,
- at AIT, through solid internal infrastructure, clear career pathways and a strong network of specialised support experts.
The visit was intensive, rich in practical insights, and highly valuable for all participants from the project consortium (KI, NIB and ZRC SAZU).
