CONFERENCE WE EXPLORE HISTORY. WE MAKE HISTORY
Recently, an engaging professional development event for history teachers took place, organised by Modrijan izobraževanje and Rokus Klett. The event was also attended by three colleagues from the Institute of Contemporary History (ICH): Dr Bojan Godeša, Dr Ivan Smiljanić, and Tamara Logar.
The morning programme focused on myths and interpretations surrounding the end of the Second World War—first in a broader European context (Dr Keith Lowe), and then in relation to the Slovenian case, highlighting key tensions between established narratives and historical sources (Dr Mitja Ferenc). The afternoon continued with a more practical segment, addressing the challenges of teaching sensitive topics, sharing good practices, and offering workshops with classroom ideas, including the use of contemporary approaches and tools.
In this post, we share a few highlights.
