AFTERNOONS WITH DARIAH: ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE AT THE INTERSECTION OF LEGAL FRAMEWORKS
As part of the Afternoons with DARIAH series, we hosted a lecture on Thursday, 9 April 2026, at the Institute of Contemporary History titled Artificial Intelligence at the Intersection of Legal Frameworks.
The speakers, Dr Pika Šarf and Andraž Stariha from the Information Commissioner of the Republic of Slovenia, presented key legal issues related to the use of artificial intelligence in the field of personal data protection. They highlighted the fundamental principles that must be considered in the development and use of AI systems, as well as the importance of safeguarding individual rights.
In the second part of the lecture, they introduced the AI Act, outlining its structure and key obligations for providers and users, with a particular focus on high-risk systems. They also emphasized the importance of protecting fundamental human rights and freedoms in the development of new technologies.
The event was held both in person and online in cooperation with DARIAH-SI.
In this post, we are also sharing a few photo highlights.
