BOOK PRESENTATION: SKRITI KOTIČKI PRVE SVETOVNE VOJNE – OD KARNIJSKIH ALP DO JADRANSKEGA MORJA
On 19 May 2026, the Institute of Contemporary History hosted a presentation of the trilingual monograph Skriti kotički prve svetovne vojne – od Karnijskih Alp do Jadranskega morja.
The monograph was presented by Prof. Vinko Avsenak, one of its three authors, whose long-term research sheds light on lesser-known and often overlooked sites connected to the First World War across the region stretching from the Carnic Alps to the Adriatic.
Created through the collaboration of researchers from Austria, Italy, and Slovenia, the book takes readers through former battlefields and their hinterlands, offering a rich collection of visual material. Across 255 pages, it features approximately 650 photographs and maps that reveal lesser-known stories of the First World War.
In this post, we are sharing photo highlights from the event.
