HIGHLIGHTS FROM THE FINAL WORKSHOP OF PROJECT J6-50189 “Systems of Care and Education for Children with Sensory Disabilities in the First and Second Yugoslav State.”

At the beginning of September, the Institute of Contemporary History hosted the final workshop of the ARIS project J6-50189, “Systems of Care and Education for Children with Sensory Disabilities in the First and Second Yugoslav State.”

The full-day event brought together researchers and individuals with personal experience. The presentations ranged from early forms of organized care for blind and deaf people to education, rehabilitation, employment, and the social position of people with sensory disabilities in socialist Yugoslavia and up to the present day.

The workshop also provided an opportunity for the final presentation and exchange of the project’s results, as well as for discussion of questions that emerged over the course of its implementation.
