He primarily focuses on Slovenian and Yugoslav political history after 1945, with particular emphasis on Yugoslav foreign policy and the country’s international relations in the Balkans. Lately his research also explores the material culture of socialist society and the role and functioning of Yugoslav socio-political organizations. In addition, his scholarly interests extend to the more recent period, especially the development and activities of political parties from the process of democratization to the present day.
He graduated in 2005 from the University of Ljubljana and has been employed at the Institute of Contemporary History (INZ) since 2007. In 2010, he obtained his PhD from the University of Ljubljana with a dissertation entitled The Yugoslav Outlook on Yugoslav–Albanian Relations, 1945–1971.
Since the 2016/2017 academic year, he has been teaching courses on the history of Southeast Europe and Yugoslavia at the Faculty of Humanities of the University of Primorska (Koper).
