Vojko Gorjanc is a Senior Research Fellow at the Institute of Contemporary History, where he contributes to the research programme Digital Humanities: Resources, Tools and Methods. His primary research interests lie in digital humanities, with a particular focus on the analysis of historical periodicals and the development of digital resources for Slovene language research. His scholarly expertise encompasses corpus linguistics, sociolinguistics, and critical discourse analysis. In digital humanities research, he contributes to the innovative integration of distant and close reading techniques. Through his work, he bridges traditional research methods with contemporary digital approaches, enabling new perspectives on historical texts and linguistic phenomena.
In addition to his research activities, Vojko Gorjanc serves as the Slovene National Coordinator of DARIAH, a European research infrastructure supporting digitally enabled research and teaching in the arts and humanities. In this role, he facilitates collaboration between Slovene researchers and the broader European digital humanities community, promoting the development and adoption of digital methods and resources in humanities research.
