Jovana Papović
International Research Coordinator
Jovana Papović is a historian and researcher specializing in the social and cultural history of Southeastern Europe, with a focus on the Habsburg Empire and Yugoslavia in the 19th and early 20th century. She earned her PhD from EHESS in Paris, where she also completed an MA in Anthropology, and holds a second MA in Cultural Studies from the Faculty of Political Sciences in Belgrade.
At the Institute of Contemporary History, she works as International Research Coordinator, supporting the Institute’s international research activities and collaborations. In this role, she contributes to the development and management of internationally funded projects, and she supports researchers throughout different stages of project preparation and implementation, including proposal development, partnership coordination, administrative follow-up, and communication with European and international funding bodies.
She is also responsible for coordinating the Institute’s Visiting Fellowship Program, overseeing the selection process and supporting visiting researchers during their stay at the Institute.
