Areas of research
Social, economic, and legal history, with a strong grounding in microhistorical and archival research.
My research focuses on rural society and family economies in the Alpine regions of present-day Slovenia from the late 18th to the early 20th century with particular attention to inheritance practices, property transmission and land use as well as the role of individuals and households in shaping local economic strategies. My work situates local case studies within broader Central European legal, social, and environmental frameworks, engaging with questions of continuity and change in agrarian societies.
