Statement of interest
During the fellowship, I will be focusing on two specific areas. First, as part of the project “Patchwork Parliaments. Post-Imperial Field of Power in The New Republic of Poland, Greater Romania and The Kingdom of Serbs, Croats and Slovenes after the First World War”, I will finalize the dataset of interwar parliamentarians and present it to the INZ collegium. This dataset is designed to trace the parliamentarians’ career trajectories, examining patterns of upward mobility during and after the parliamentary service, as well as the transfers of various forms of capital and the nationalization and professionalization of politics. Second, I would like to expend my comparative research on the development of interest group theory in 1960s state socialist Europe which currently examines Polish jurists, ČSR “reform” scholars and the leading Yugoslav authors working at the intersection of the self-management theory and political sociology. This research will be published in the proceedings of INZ’s recent workshop “Revolutionary Technocracy: The State and Mass Organizations in Socialist Governance since the 1950s”.
