Adela Hîncu receives Excellence in Science award by ARIS
The book Texts and Context from the History of Feminism and Women’s Rights: East Central Europe, the Second Part of the Twentieth Century (CEU Press, 2024), edited by Zsófia Lóránd, Adela Hîncu, Jovana Mihajlović Trbovc, and Katarzyna Stańczak-Wiślicz, was awarded for Excellence in Science by ARIS.
On November 12, Adela Hîncu and Jovana Mihajlović Trbovc participated in a roundtable discussion and received the award as part of the Dan ARIS 2025 ceremony.
The prize is a recognition of the work of over 80 scholars and 33 translators who have curated this collection of over 100 sources from the history of women’s rights and feminist thought in postwar East Central Europe, now available in English for the first time, together with biographies of the authors and contextualisations of the sources. It recovers the work of remarkable women thinkers, activists, and artists, and represents a rich resource for further research, thinking, and organizing for social and economic equality across class, gender, race, and sexuality divides.
