SENNA ŠIMEK – HISTORY ON THE EDGE
On Wednesday, 26 November 2025, the Institute of Contemporary History hosted a new lecture in the History on the Edge series.
The lecture was delivered by Senna Šimek, who presented “Between Judgment and Perception – The ICTY Narrative on Croatia’s Role in the War in Bosnia and Herzegovina and Domestic Reactions.”
She highlighted how ICTY judgments – especially in the Prlić et al. case – shape the understanding of Croatia’s involvement in the conflict and how the Croatian political elite has responded to these international legal findings. She also examined the impact of these rulings on political discourse, collective memory, and national historical interpretations.
The lecture, held in English, took place at the INZ premises and via Zoom.
The entire lecture can be viewed on: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YcjijRpj7E4
We share a few photo highlights from the event.
