AFTERNOONS WITH DARIAH: WHY IS IT NECESSARY TO READ?
You are invited to the next lecture in the DARIAH Afternoons series, which will take place at the Institute of Contemporary History (Privoz 11, Ljubljana) on Tuesday, 5 May at 13:00. You can also join via Zoom: https://us06web.zoom.us/j/87184507674?pwd=b3DMvVv9sqWhkiUidDxBjQuChxKZxn.1
The speakers, Dr Petra Javrh, Alenka Štrukelj, and Natalija Žalec from the Slovenian Institute for Adult Education, will discuss reading habits, reading promotion, and adult education.
The lecture will begin with key insights into adult reading habits and present findings from a study on the reading practices of librarians. This will be followed by an overview of reading promotion initiatives, such as family literacy programmes, National Reading Day, 10 minutes of daily reading, and the Lahko.si 2026 project. The final part will introduce the training programme Integrating Reading into Adult Education, aimed at systematically fostering a reading culture.
You are warmly invited!
