EU-PoTaRCh – Workshop
On 29 and 30 January 2025, the Institute of Contemporary History in Ljubljana will host the EU-PoTaRCh hybrid workshop, which will take place in the framework of the COST Action CA22155 – Network for forest by-products charcoal, resin, tar, potash.
The workshop will focus on the role of forest by-products such as charcoal, resin, potash and tar from the perspective of heritage, archaeology and environmental history. Researchers from more than fifteen countries will present their work, various databases and visual sources, and discuss the possibilities of passing on this knowledge and traditions to future generations.
The workshop will also be an opportunity to meet members of the Slovenian Charcoal Association and visit the Documentation Department of the Slovenian Ethnographic Museum.
