Mesec znanosti@INZ: Družbeni učinki znanosti – med ambicijo in realnostjo
On Friday, 7 November 2025, the Institute of Contemporary History will host the event Mesec znanosti@INZ: Družbeni učinki znanosti – med ambicijo in realnostjo organized in cooperation with the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovation. The event will take place from 10:00 to 15:00 in a hybrid format – in person at the Institute’s headquarters in Ljubljana and online via Zoom. The conference will be held in Slovene.
The discussion will focus on the social effects of science, exploring their meaning, challenges, and methods of evaluation. Participants will address three main thematic areas: the importance of cooperation and connection between science and its environment; the establishment of a system for identifying and evaluating the social impact of science; and the dilemmas, risks, and power relations that arise in this context.
Speakers and participants will include representatives of research institutions and universities, funding bodies, policymakers, and others who contribute through their work to the creation, understanding, and strengthening of the social effects of science.
