GUSTAVO CANDELA – HISTORY ON THE EDGE
On 11 March 2026, we hosted another lecture at the Institute of Contemporary History as part of the History on the Edge lecture series.
In his talk, “Data Publishing and Use in the Humanities: A Labs Approach,” lecturer Gustavo Candela presented good practices in publishing and using digital collections in the humanities, as promoted by the international GLAM Labs Community and the Collections as Data initiative.
In the lecture, he highlighted past and ongoing work on the reuse of code and workflows for different types of content, including metadata, bibliographic records, and images. He also presented advanced approaches related to information retrieval, visualization, data quality assurance, and data enrichment through external repositories. In addition, he showcased some existing data research infrastructures and platforms in Europe.
The event was held in English, at the INZ premises and via Zoom.
